Why is Stingaree still 'the best'.
Located in a historic warehouse and named after San Diego's once taboo red light district, the 22,500 square foot venue turns up the heat with provocative undertones that match its racy namesake. Guests of Stingaree can get cozy in private cabanas or on plush king sized beds on the beautiful Rooftop Oasis. With champagne and bottle service available under the stars and between the sheets, the Oasis offers an enticing environment when the action gets too hot indoors.
The second floor "Mezzanine" is the most alluring level of Stingaree, as it houses a private Penthouse for the ultimate and most exclusive experience. Accommodating up to 35 people, the Penthouse is completely secluded and features its own private bartender and security. Just outside the Penthouse, you will find the "reservation only area" equipped with oversized booths and personalized bottle service. The lounge floats above the first level dance floor, providing guests with a voyeuristic view of the intense nightlife scene below. The Mezzanine area often doubles as a catwalk for numerous runway shows, featuring clothing designs from some of the hottest names in the fashion industry.

Outfitted with the most advanced lighting and sound technology, club goers will revel in an atmosphere that has earned Stingaree a reputation as one of the nation's premier dance destinations. Stingaree had an amazing crowd in the house tonight to match the astonishing interior.
This place was at capacity very early on in the night, as DJ Cobra got nasty on the one’s and two’s. He had lounge music blasting in the beginning then as the night progress he killed the dance floor with some awesome mash-ups and house music that had the hot crowd getting down on the floor.
When I say this place was packed, I mean it. From above in the VIP, you could watch a sea of people below dancing and mingling among each other. When I was down there, I was able to play a little game called, “try not to get bumped into and spill my drink.†Unfortunately I lost.
For the majority of the night I lingered in the VIP area where a ton of hot girls sat at a booth around several bottles of Grey Goose, where a choice of cranberry or Red Bulls were provided to mix at my disposal.
It was indeed another great night at Sting with plenty of bling to match as the super hip and groovy crowd dressed to impress. There is one thing for sure about this most-talked about and highly anticipated nightlife venue, you’ll never be disappointed when you arrive.

Stingaree
There was a packed house at Stingaree, with a dazzling vibe to groove to thanks to the awesome music from a great DJ.
DJ G*Roy opened the night with his standard kick-as mash ups as he got the crowd pumped from the beginning of the night. G*Roy set the stage for DJ Cobra, who then murdered the tables with his own array of mixes. Hailing from Los Angeles, Cobra came through Stingaree with a West Coast flare that was insane.
Stingaree Assistant Manager Rodrigo Iglesias said comparing Saturday and Friday nights at Sting is like comparing apples and oranges.
Iglesias said on Friday nights, J. Overell handles the promotions, bringing an East Coast flavor to the scene with awesome visuals and fashion.
However, on Saturday night’s, there’s more of a West Coast genre heard through the speakers, he said.
“Tonight is a good night, a good operations, good vibe,†he said. “ There is a nice inner circle of industry people here and they all know each other, which is very good and makes it fun.â€
Iglesias said that Stingaree is not just a club, but also a supreme fine dining restaurant, as “We bring fine dining to the club industry.â€
There has been a lot of hype about Stingaree and many here tonight made a first time appearance due to it.
Alexis Stuhm, a pharmaceutical saleswoman from San Francisco said she heard, “That if you go to San Diego, you have to visit Stingaree.â€
Heidi Christenson, another pharmaceutical saleswoman from Denver, who was with a separate group of ladies, said she chose to party at Sting with three of her friends because of all the hype she heard from other people.
“I heard this is the place to be,†Christenson said. “…and I like it.â€
Meanwhile, on the rooftop, the cabanas were filled with clusters of people mingling and drinking while having a fantabulous time. It was definitely mellower atop Sting then downstairs in VIP and the main floors. More like an outdoor lounge, but still high energy. Perfect to cool off after dancing to the hip-hop/pop/house mash-ups and mixes played throughout.
I’d give the bar props about service, but I was double charged for a separate order of drinks…quite the inconvenience. At least the bartender was nice while she was pouring those shots of Patron.
In conclusion, this night would not have been such absolute success if it weren’t for the fact that there were two sick DJ’s who had the club going crazy. G*Roy’s selection blew the roof off and Cobra’s mixes burned the place down. Before you knew it – it was time to go home, another Red Rope Review success story at one of S.D.’s top hot spots.

Sting
It was a St. Patty’s Day bash straight from the pubs of Ireland at Stingaree tonight. Splashes of green mint dropped from the sky onto bar tables like Lil Wayne was making it rain green in SD.
DJ Spider killed it on the turntables and had the whole place crackin’ and dancing to the all the new hits along with groovy house and techno.
Indeed if you weren’t here, you were not in ‘the scene’ because all the ballers and shot-callers made their presence known, so where were you? To no surprise, the dance floor was packed with fine ladies and distinguished gentlemen.
VIP hosts were awesome and the cocktail servers were quick with the drinks. The bartenders were great especially when they’re having just as much fun as you are and pouring nice stiff refreshments.
This night was a very competitive night for downtown San Diego, but as always, Stingaree pulled it off and continues to be a beacon for all San Diego nightlife.

Stingaree Fridays
It was yet another crazy party for Stingaree Friday Nights showcased by J. Overell. The crowd was decent, a bit amateurish, but nonetheless worthy of Stings’ standards.
The ultra-modern interior design is sensational and radiates an awesome energy that’s contagious.
The rooftop is great to sit back under a cabana, pop bottles and enjoy life under the stars. It sure is better when there is more people to enjoy it with.
With the likes of DJ Chris Cutz and Erick Diaz, you bet the music was on point and the crowd was feeling it. The main dance floor was full of people mingling and dancing with cocktails by their side.
As we all know, Friday nights in the gaslamp are not like Saturdays, but you can always count on a Friday night at Stingaree as being one of your safest bets on a cool night.

Friday Nights at Stingaree
You can always count on Stingaree to have the hottest crowds and sickest DJs in San Diego – no questions.
As for downtown San Diego in general, this Friday night was not at all that poppin’ but Stingaree still had a semi-packed house. With featured DJ’s Chris Cutz and Cobra on the one’s and two’s, the dance floors were filled up in the main room and VIP section was off the hook.
Jason Overell and his hotshot team of talented professionals know how to throw an amazing party and are the main reason Stingaree Friday Nights is a success.
The bartenders are friendly and cocktail servers are eager to get your next drink. If you arrive early you can dine and eat a delicious dinner made by some of the best chefs in town, but that’s a different review. Red Rope Restaurant Reviews coming soon…
A Red Rope Reviews applause goes out to ‘Sting’ for setting the example in nightclub industry standards. It’s one of the best San Diego clubs for a reason, so check it out and find out for your self.

Stingaree
It was yet just another night in party paradise as DJ Ob-One had Stingaree heating up with steamy fun, not even the rain outside could put the fire outside of this San Diego hot spot.
Ob-One played to the crowd and had it all under control as more and more people poured inside like ants on a cookie. Downstairs was packed; making it easy to see that there is no place like VIP.
Everywhere I turned was a chic crowd in their mid 20s to mid 30s, looking young and having fun. The men-to-woman ratio was perfect and the mood was happy and blissful.
“This is the place to be when you want to get dressed up and have a good time,†said Sara from San Diego.
Her boyfriend immediately concurred with a smile on his face as he sipped on his drink containing “a fine mixture of Vodka and Tonic with a hint of limeâ€, he says.
Despite a rainy night and cold weather, Sting was the thing that warmed up my night full of excitement and hotness all around.

Stingaree
“Lets get it on in public,†was the audacious phrase that belted from the speakers, as I made my grand entrance into one of San Diego’s hottest clubs, Stingaree. “Sounds good to me…Lets get it on!â€
The ambiance of the club was that of youthfulness, excitement and free from care – my kind of place. Sexy clad young women and trendy-suave men danced, drank and smiled symbolizing genuine enjoyment of each other’s company. I looked around and thought to myself “this place is cool!â€
Then came what is in my opinion the “real testâ€- the VIP. How long would it take for me to get in without one of those stupid stamps? And how is it once I’m inside?
For all you ladies…let me tell you…simply show a little skin and flash those pearly whites…and VIP access is open doors! Once inside VIP, the crowd seemed very mature with a sense of whimsical exuberance. As the Techno music thumped over the clubs airways and as time passed a by, Stingaree was pretty much packed to capacity.
One of the most awesome aspects of Stingaree is the rooftop level. Here, partygoers can enjoy a phenomenal view of San Diego while vesting in the San Diego night breeze.
“This club is awesome, it is totally nothing like our clubs in Germanyâ€, Yasmeen a local college student told me about Stingaree, compared to bars in her hometown overseas.
As I looked around all the guys seemed to be enjoying the chill rooftop experience under the stars. Maybe if could be because the ratio seemed to be two girls for every guy.
All in all, I give Stingaree a very high rating worthy of Red Rope Reviews status approval. The crowd was very attractive, the ambiance was sophisticated and the experience was refreshing.

Stingaree
It was around 10pm when Red Rope Reviews went through the VIP doors of one San Diego’s premiere downtown nightclubs, Stingaree. With a very mellow hip-hop mix spun by DJ G*Roy, he had good vibes radiating throughout this place. The chilly night kept folks away from the rooftop and the chic cabanas were pretty much vacant, not to mention zero bars were open to serve. All the action was downstairs and remained there the entire night.
As the night grew colder, the crowds grew larger full of beautiful people to match the fancy interior of Sting. The ratio of classy ladies to distinguished gentlemen were even for the most part. Some of the ladies interviewed by Red Rope said the martinis could use some more kick because the ones they had were weaker than their grandpa’s old cough syrup.
Thomas Tomasello, owner of an international software company says he was having a great time, the service was okay, but the atmosphere was better.
“I bring clients here from all around the world because it’s a really nice club,†he said. “Similar to Asia, this place is perfect for an international crowd because it makes them feel right at home.â€
With an ultra modern décor inside an opulent setting, it’s no wonder regulars to the scene keep on coming back for more good times.
Two gorgeous blondes at the bar said it was their first time partying at Sting and they loved the ambience it projected, or it could have been the hot guys who surrounded them.
“The atmosphere is fantastic and everything is central, the bars, the dancing,†one woman said. “You have it all. Who can complain?â€
On the other side of the coin, Alicia from North Carolina said there is no designated area that’s clear to her on where to dance and sit down.
“If you where high heels, it’s a concern†she says. “You either have to be VIP to sit in the seating area or go to the rooftop to sit, but it’s too cold.â€
Well Alicia be glad you’re in America’s Finest City, in one of its finest clubs and not shoveling snow back in North Carolina, which isn’t exactly a winter’s paradise. Here in Cali, we don’t hold up walls, we step up and dance to the beat to keep warm. Thanks to a renowned local DJ, that’s what everyone did inside the Sting.
Lindsey, a USD Law student says it was she and her friends first time at Sting and they were having a blast.
“The music was awesome,†she said.
John, 23 who just moved to San Diego from Phoenix says Stingaree offers a lot to those who come here to party.
“You can dance in the crowds downstairs or you can chill and mellow out upstairs for a bit underneath the stars.â€
Sting is a high style facility with a friendly staff and clean restrooms where you don’t have to worry about catching any mysterious forms of Hepatitis. However, the bartender’s could use a lesson on service to customers though. The place wasn’t even packed and they acted like they were too good to offer drinks to those wanting one. Put it this way, if you’re a guy good luck getting a drink. Just wave a Benjamin in their face to get their attention, or just have a girl order it for you. On average, expect to spend $7 on a beer, $11-12 on a shot, $10 on a mixed drink and $9 on a glass of wine.
Get your buzz money’s worth by either ordering a beer, or a glass of wine because the bartenders’ egos definitely outweighed the Vodka in my Red Bull. Luckily enough the DJ played some crackin’ hits with smooth mixes that kept the place poppin’.
All in all, if you got the funds in the account, you got the fun brag about. The only thing that talks here is the money that’ll puts a sting to any pocketbook. But hey, if you’re like Thomas and many other business owners here, it’s a simple tax right off to Uncle Sam. Who said business can’t mix with pleasure? At Stingaree you can.
