Frank Kniss, the owner of BKB DJ Services, who goes under the stage name “DJ Illniss,” has been in the business since 1994. He grew up listening to the likes of Run DMC, the Beastie Boys, and DJ Jazzie Jeff, but in ’98 his interest shifted from Hip/Hop and Pop to House Music. Frank’s vast experience with mixing music includes Hip/Hop, Pop, 70s, 80s, 90s and Chillout, but his true love is House, chiefly Armand Van Helden, Judge Jules and Roger Sanchez. Frank has international experience, having worked in Southern California, Guam, Manila (he presided over the 2000 Millenium Eve Party on Boracay Island), Washington D.C., Sydney and Tokyo. Lively and personable in the DJ booth, Frank offers a substantial music collection which includes the genres above mentioned and “For DJ Use Only” (he has successfully migrated from Vinyl Records to Vinyl MP3), as well as a cutting-edge sounds/lights system. His plans include promoting House Music in the U.S., as he believes that it should receive the kind of enthusiastic response it gets in Europe and Asia. Frank says that although he's expanding into music production and remixing, he considers himself first and foremost a DJ: “I play not for myself, but for the crowd… the crowd comes first. I love to please and make the crowd go wild. To me, DJaying is not just a job, it's a lifestyle.”
