Side Bar was an absolute success in celebration of Ashley Adams’ birthday. DJ Deatnick tore up the turntables as he spun everything from hip-hop mash-ups to some house and good old fashion Top 40 hits. Check out the video and see what the night was like.
A Red Rope Reviews round of applause goes out to the cocktail servers and bartenders for providing a superior service and who are always willing to please and bring the next shot.
The place was packed from 10pm until closing. Getting inside the super exclusive San Diego hot spot without a Red Rope VIP wristband was like trying to get into a virgin's pants¬–very hard and very unlikely.
For those lucky enough to get inside and enjoy the evenings great music spun by a great DJ, it was another fabulous night in America's Finest.

Red Rope Reviews hit the floor of Side Bar just a people began to line up into a small, intimate club on Market Street that hosts loud, raucous parties just off the city’s main strip, in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.
Despite its popularity, Side Bar still feels like one of those exclusive places for people in the know. Tables surround a small dance floor, providing a VIP feeling. The bouncers in front lift the red rope for all their friends. And, at least on this night, the place was populated with beautiful women clamoring for attention.
If you dig a smaller setting, the Side Bar should be on your to do list. Although, there are advantages and disadvantages to the size, one thing is for sure – a good time always waits inside.
You have to literally fight your way across the room to get anywhere, which can be frustrating if you’re trying to go to the bathroom or meet up with friends.
Ordering a drink at the bar doesn’t take long. Neither does drinking it. For a whiskey-coke the cost was $5, and considering I could pay at least that in some bars in Pacific Beach, the price was not too disappointing. The music was loud and DJ Brent Bartel spun a good mix of popular hip-hop and dance songs.
Smith’s friend, Sabrina Lewis said she thought the bar would be a bit more fancy but admitted that she normally spends her night’s in Pacific Beach, which hardly compares to the classiness of Downtown, let alone Side Bar.
“It’s not quite what I though it would be,†she said.
“I though it would be a little more upscale. It’s kind of in between Downtown and PB.â€
A Los Angeles-based model, however, who scrawled her name in my notebook as Liniana, said that Side Bar “is one of the top spots†in San Diego. Her talent manager, Dan Coccia, agreed, describing Side Bar Friday night as “off the hook.â€
“I would highly recommend for people from LA to come down to Side Bar,†he said. “The women here are very real and they’re all having a good time.â€
